Agreement

These terms govern the PatchPDF website, hosted editor, and related services. By using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you use PatchPDF for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to act for it.

The service

PatchPDF helps users change existing PDF text by generating a preview, checking the rendered result, and applying supported edits. The service is under active development. It may refuse unsupported edits or be unavailable temporarily. Verification checks whether the requested text appears and fits in the rendered page; it does not determine whether the new wording is accurate, lawful, or suitable.

Your documents and instructions

You retain your rights in documents and instructions you provide. You grant PatchPDF the limited permission needed to process the submitted text and metadata and return the requested result. You must have the right to use and modify each document.

Acceptable use

You may not use PatchPDF to:

• violate law or another person's rights;
• create deceptive, fraudulent, forged, or unauthorized documents;
• impersonate another person or misrepresent authority;
• bypass security controls, distribute malware, or gain unauthorized access;
• interfere with the service or use automated access beyond reasonable limits;
• process content when you lack the required permission.

You are responsible for reviewing an edited PDF before relying on, sharing, or submitting it.

AI and verification

AI-generated edit proposals and automated verification can be incomplete or wrong. PatchPDF is not legal, financial, medical, or other professional advice. A technical verification result is not a certification of authenticity or substantive correctness.

Public beta

Previewing, applying, and exporting supported edits is free during the public beta. PatchPDF may ask for optional, content-free pricing feedback, but does not currently accept payment. The beta is not a subscription, credit balance, or promise of permanent cloud storage.

Availability and termination

PatchPDF may apply reasonable rate limits and may suspend access when necessary to prevent abuse, protect users, comply with law, or address operational or security risk. You may stop using the service at any time.

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PatchPDF is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a warranty that every PDF can be edited or every output will be error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that rule, PatchPDF is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, and aggregate liability for claims relating to the public beta is limited to the extent permitted by applicable law.
